An individual approach

As a fully certified Level 3 Personal Trainer, I will work with you (and a friend if you prefer to train together) to build a bespoke training programme. I take into account your experience, goals and how exercise can realistically and consistently be incorporated into your everyday life. 

 

I tend to focus on resistance and strength based training as I feel this is where I can add the most value. If you're keen to have a mix of cardio and weights, I can include elements such as boxing pad work or cardio intervals within the session. 


I'll take time when we first meet to discuss your goals and what you enjoy. We'll concentrate on technique to keep you free from injury and maintaining your motivation with something new each session. My aim is to push you outside of your comfort zone, helping you to achieve things you never thought possible. All whilst having some fun along the way! 

The benefits of strength training

Individual or pairs training sessions give the opportunity to work on a programme designed specifically with you in mind. helping you to achieve your goals more quickly.


Through a focussed approach I can help you develop confidence, technique and power when it comes to your training. I primarily build resistance based programmes, and the benefits of lifting weights, particularly for women are well researched:

 

💪Enhances your mood and reduces stress - the emotional impact of endorphins is well reported, but strength training can add a further dimension; increasing your confidence and helping you feel more capable in and out of the gym.

💪Reduces your risk of osteoporosis - weight based training can increase spinal bone density creating a strong and healthy spine. This, coupled with an adequate amount of dietary calcium, can be a woman’s best defence against osteoporosis. 

💪Develops a great posture - the added benefit of strengthening your spine and core is that your posture will improve helping you stand taller feeling more comfortable and confident.

💪Reduce your risk of injury, back pain and arthritis - resistance training not only strengthens muscles but also increases bone density which reduces the risk of fractures and increases joint stability.

💪Improves efficiency of fat burning - through strength training you build lean muscle which will increase your metabolic rate and therefore help you burn fat and calories more efficiently.

💪Gain strength without bulking up - a common fear is that if you start to lift weights you’ll become too muscly. This really is a myth as due to our hormone levels we won’t bulk up in the same way that men do. I will work with you to develop muscular definition without muscular size and by gaining overall strength you’ll see an improvement in your overall fitness ability too.

To get you started I offer an initial reduced rate Personal Training Taster session, giving you the opportunity to get to know me and how I work with no further commitment. 


Going forward  you can choose from 45 minute or full hour sessions, and decide whether to pay as you go or block book to enjoy savings on session rates.


I know fitting training into a busy lifestyle can be tricky, so am happy to offer sessions at times that work for you. If you need to bring a little one along too that’s absolutely fine!
