About Me

Get to know me.....


My name is Katie, I live in Chigwell with my husband and two children; Lola and Alex. It was after having my children that I started to develop a genuine enjoyment for exercise. 


For most of my life I’ve endured exercise as a means to an end. I thought about physical activity from the angle of what it could make it me look like, as opposed to how it could make me feel. I believe that exercise can bring huge benefits both physically and emotionally. 


By shifting the focus away from achieving a particular body shape, and instead committing to gaining the best results for me as an individual, I found that incorporating a variety of training types and intensities enabled me to see continuous progress, feel challenged and also really enjoy being active. 


I discovered that exercise really can be fun; it motivates me, gives me confidence, brings physical and mental health benefits and has allowed me to meet some fantastic people along the way.


I approach my career in fitness like everything else in life, with passion and commitment. I know that I'm always learning but so far the qualifications that I have secured are:


⭐ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training

⭐ Level 2 Diploma in Group Fitness

⭐ Level 2 Fitness Instructing for Children

⭐ DNAfit Certified Trainer

There are so many options available when it comes to fitness and Personal Training. Gyms can be intimidating places, I consider myself to be very approachable and down to earth, and at True You Fitness you'll have a totally private gym and outdoor space for your workouts.


I'll focus on how being fitter and stronger can make you feel rather than seeing exercise as a necessity that has to be endured to deliver external results. I believe that I’m able to empathise with my clients, supporting and guiding them to achieve their aims when it comes to fitness and well-being.


I trained in fitness after a career in HR and believe that coming to the profession later in life has given me a fresh perspective, and deeper understanding of the challenges we all face when trying to improve our fitness and health.


Making a decision about who to train with is very personal so I’m really happy to have a chat with you to help you decide whether you’d enjoy working with me. I also offer your first Personal Training session at a reduced rate, and your first class with me absolutely free. There's no commitment to further sessions, and I promise I won’t be offended if you decide the fit is not right for you!

I will encourage you to achieve your goals and try new things, but I aim never to intimidate or be scary! I'll support you, challenge you and definitely keep you motivated.
